For such a widely used process it is surprising that there are very few good sources of guidance on implementing Management of Change. For my customers I recommend “Guidelines for the Management of Change for Process Safety” published by the AICHE Center for Chemical Process Safety in 2008. I still find it very useful and it is available from Amazon.
Another very good source of information is the Energy institute “Element 12: Management of Change and Project Management Guidance”. I wrote a review of how our MOC application works with this framework.
